This morning at 11:00 the Consortium Development and Law and Freedom of Association to usher in S. Cipirello Don Tomaso C.da the Centopassi Cantina.
The winery produced by the Consortium Development and Legality in property confiscated under anti-mafia law, John Genovese, was funded by the Home Office with funding from the DPS Safety PON 2000-2006.
La Cantina, located in an area covering 17 000 square meters and surrounded other 6 acres of land confiscated from the Mafia too, is destined for processing of high quality grapes, white (Chardonnay, Catarratto, Cricket) and red (Nero d'Avola, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Perricone) produced in vineyards of the Consortium Development and Legality. It has a capacity of 2100 hectoliters for a final production of about 280,000 bottles a year.
The overall structure consists of a pavilion that houses the production cycle with their equipment and machinery, and slightly detached but linked by a single cover, a body attached, which includes admission to public offices for 'administration, personnel rooms, changing rooms with toilets and a laboratory for analysis, all composed of simple rectangular shapes covered by a ceiling "barrel." Centopassi will be managed by the cooperative Placido Rizzotto Libera Terra, which through co-financing of the Regional Agriculture under the measure 6.4 of the ROP Sicily from 2000 to 2006 has implemented the production facilities.
Next spring will see here monovarietals Centopassi bottled selections and blend the line Placido Rizzotto, here goes the full possibilities that the ambition of co animate Centopassi to produce high quality wines, which interpret the extraordinary territory of the Corleone .
